Dustin Timm, Executive Director Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy, RoughRiders Hockey Club

Dustin Timm is the Founder and Executive Director of Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy (DTHA), bringing a deep passion for player development and a relentless commitment to excellence in youth hockey. With years of experience coaching and leading hockey programs, Dustin has built DTHA as a premier training academy designed to elevate athletes through structured, high-intensity skill development.

As an experienced coach and administrator, Dustin has been instrumental in shaping programs that focus on power skating, skill refinement, and game IQ, ensuring players develop the tools needed to compete at the next level. His vision for DTHA is rooted in a philosophy of hard work, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of improvement, guiding young athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the ice.

Under his leadership, DTHA continues to set the standard for elite hockey training, fostering a culture of dedication and growth.

Jefferson Stack, Assistant Director Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy, RoughRiders Hockey Club

Jefferson Stack serves as the Assistant Director of Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy and the RoughRiders Hockey Club, bringing a wealth of experience in player development and team leadership. A former AAA player, Jefferson continued his hockey career at the University of Iowa before joining the RoughRiders Hockey Club staff in 2019. His dedication to the game has also led him to serve as an Assistant Coach for the USHL Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Passionate about fostering growth both on and off the ice, Jefferson is committed to helping athletes refine their skills, develop strong hockey IQ, and build the work ethic needed to excel at higher levels of play. His emphasis on a positive, competitive culture makes him a key leader in shaping the next generation of hockey players.

Kevin Brooks, University of Iowa Head Coach

Kevin Brooks is the head coach of the University of Iowa's Men's Ice Hockey team, a position he has held since 2018. Brooks was named the Central Region Coach of the Year by the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).

Before his tenure at Iowa, Brooks served as an assistant coach for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the United States Hockey League (USHL) from 2008 to 2014. He also played for the RoughRiders from 2001 to 2003, serving as team captain in his final season before heading to collegiate hockey at Providence College and later Curry College.

Brooks' extensive experience as both a player and coach has been instrumental in developing the University of Iowa's hockey program into a formidable presence in collegiate hockey.

Eric Scheid, Former Div. I NCAA and AHL Player, Assistance Coach High School RoughRiders Hockey Club

Eric Scheid brings elite-level playing experience and a passion for player development to Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy. A former NCAA Division I standout at Penn State University, Scheid played a key role in the Nittany Lions' rise in college hockey, known for his speed, skill, and scoring ability. His journey also includes junior hockey success in the USHL, where he refined his game before competing at the collegiate level.

Now dedicated to mentoring the next generation, Scheid emphasizes skill development, hockey IQ, and a strong work ethic, helping players maximize their potential on and off the ice.

Brooks Dimarino, USHL RoughRiders Assistant & Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy Goalie Coach

Brooks DiMarino serves as an assistant coach for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the United States Hockey League (USHL), bringing a wealth of experience in player development and high-level competition. Known for his passion for the game and commitment to fostering elite talent, Coach DiMarino plays a key role in developing young goalies both on and off the ice. His expertise in goalie development aligns with the mission of Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy, where he helps guide aspiring players toward reaching their full potential.

Phil Axtell, Former NCAA Div I Player, ECHL, Tier 1 AAA, & USHL Asst. Coach, Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy Coach

Phil Axtell, born on August 13, 1986, in New Windsor, Maryland, is a former professional ice hockey player and seasoned coach with a diverse background in the sport. At 6'6" he played as a forward during his active years from 2004 to 2011.

Axtell's coaching career began in Maryland with the Metro Maple Leafs organization, where he served as the travel hockey director and coach. He then joined the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL, initially as an assistant coach for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, before being promoted to head coach for the 2017-18 season. Following his tenure with the Mallards, Axtel continued to develop young talent as an assistant coach with the Dubuque Fighting Saints during the 2018-19 season and the Waterloo Black s in the 2020-21 season, both teams competing in the USHL. Throughout his coaching career, Axtell has demonstrated a commitment to developing players' skills and fostering a passion for the game. His extensive experience as both a player and coach at various levels of competitive hockey makes him a valuable asset to the Dedicated Talent Hockey Academy.
